Translation

O Lord, please ensure that my soul leaves the body whilst saying Your beautiful Name - Govinda. 1) O Lord, I wish to be at the banks of the holy Ganges, or the banyan tree on the banks of the Yamunā River (under which Lord Krishna played His flute and performed the Maharās). May my beloved Lord Krishna be close to me when my soul leaves the body. 2) At the holy abode of Vrindāvan, with a Tulsi leaf in my mouth, and with the holy water of Lord Vishnu’s Lotus Feet, may my soul leave the body. 3) May the beautiful image of Lord Krishna dressed in yellow silks be on my mind. With a smile on my lips may my soul leave the body. 4) When my life force reaches my throat, may no disease afflict me. May I never see the face of Yamarāj (the demigod of death) when my soul leaves the body. 5) At that critical time, please come quickly. O Lord Krishna, please don’t forget to come. Please bring Srī Rādhā along with You, when my soul leaves the body. 6) May my soul peacefully leave the body as I chant Your Name. May I be saved from all grief and misery when my soul leaves the body. 7) This is the humble request of Your devotee and the selfish wish of mine (that I need Your presence with me). Further, I leave it up to You to decide when my soul leaves the body.
