Lord Krishna says - O dear Mother, I didn’t eat butter! 1) At the sunrise, You sent me to graze the cows in the forest of Madhuban. Till evening I was wandering near the Banyan tree near Yamunā river and came back home in the evening. Tell me Mother, when did I eat the butter. 2) O Mother, I have small arms. How can I reach the butter pot hung so high. I have butter on my mouth because all the cowherd boys are against me and they put butter on my mouth. 3) O Mother, You are so innocent at heart, why do You listen to them. Then Krishna says, O Mother please take Your stick and blanket, You have made me dance a lot (I am not taking the cows for grazing). 4) O Mother, You hold some secret in Your heart. You do not consider me as Your son. Saint Surdas Ji says - At this Mother Yashodā laughs and embraces little Srī Krishna. With tears in Her eyes, she says to Krishna, “You did not eat the butter”.
