Meaning

Translation

I offer my humble obeisances to You Mother Tulasi. Your glory is infinite. You are known as the beloved of Lord Vishnu and as Vrinda. 1) We apply sandalwood Tilak to You and offer You the turmeric rice and the flowers. We worship You with Ghee lit lamps with love and devotion. May our love for our Guru never decrease. 2) In whosoever’s home You reside, they always have the Lord with them. By worshipping You, firm faith in the devotion of the supreme Lord increases. 3) One who offers You water in the morning, bows down to You and does Your Parikrama (circumambulation), all his works get accomplished. 4) You destroy diseases and have a lot of health benefits. In medicine, You are well-known as holy Basil. Whosoever consumes You everyday, all his diseases vanish. 5) Tulasi blossoms with its sweet fragrance in Vrindāvan. It makes the mind pure and filled with sweetness. Similarly, by drinking the ambrosial nectar of the supreme knowledge, the body and mind become pure.
