O my Divine Mother, during navratri You take the nine forms. You come by taking different forms. 1) First form the Mother takes is of Goddess Shailputri. She is Goddess Parvati. She is the consort of Lord Shiva and she rides the lion. All glories to the Divine Mother! 2) The Goddess Chandraghanta has a half Moon on her head shaped like a bell. This form of the Divine Mother gives supreme bliss. She has removed my sins. The Goddess Khushmanda keeps the universe in Her womb. The knower of the three worlds, removes the sins and sorrows. 3) The Goddess Skanda Mātā gave birth to Lord Skanda (Lord Kartikeya). After doing so much penance and earning so much merits, I have obtained a Mother like You. To save the sages, the Goddess Katyayani appeared. You are the Mother Chamunda. You are the creator of the world. 4) The Goddess Kālarātrī is the death of death itself. She is capable of saving us. We firmly believe in this. The eighth form is the Goddess Gauri. She has an extremely fair complexion. In all the four directions, Your Name is resounding. 5) The ninth form is the Goddess Siddhidatri. She grants all the spiritual powers. navratri is with the Goddess Durga having eight arms. We will sing the glories of Your Name by singing and dancing. So in this short life, we will attain something precious.
