Translation

1) The night has come to an end and the light of dawn is entering. O soul, arise and give up your sleep. Chant the holy Name of Srī Hari Who is the giver of liberation; the enemy of the demon Mura; the supreme Enjoyer; the all-attractive One and the horse-headed incarnation, Hayagriva. 2) Srī Hari incarnated as Narasimha. He appeared as a dwarf Brahman named Upendra (Vamana Avatār) and is the slayer of the demon Madhu. He is the King of Vraj, the beloved son of Nanda Maharaj with a beautiful dark complexion. He is the slayer of Putana and demon Kaitabh. All glories to Srī Hari Who appeared as Lord Rām, the beloved son of king Dasharatha. 3) He is the darling of Mother Yashodā; the Lord of the universe; the sustainer of the world; the protector of the cows and cowherds; the Lord of the Vrindāvan forest; the gopis beloved; the lover of Srī Rādhā and the most beautiful One of the world. 4) As Lord Rām, He slayed the demon king Ravana. As Lord Krishna, He stole the butter and clothes of the Gopis as they were bathing. He is the protector of Vraja and the sustainer of the cow- herds of Vrindāvan. He steals the hearts of all and holds a flute. 5) Lord Krishna is worshipped by the best of sages and is the beloved son of Nanda Maharaj. He removes all the fears of the inhabitants of Vraj. He has the body hue of a fresh rain cloud and His form is very enchanting. 6) He is the son of Yashodā and the slayer of the king Kamsa. He performs the Divine plays (Rās) in the groves of Vraj and in Kadamba forests. He is the resident of the forests of Vrindāvan. 7) He is the source of bliss and the reservoir of all love. He is the transcendental cupid Who used His flowered arrows to increase the loving desire of the gopis. He is the pleasure of the Gopī’s hearts and the abode of all wonderful qualities. 8) Lord Krishna is the life of the river Yamunā and is always absorbed in amorous pastimes. He is the Moon of the Gopī’s minds which are like the chakora birds yearning for moonlight. O mind, obey these words of mine and sing the glories of nectarious names of Lord Krishna.
