Don’t be arrogant about your wealth! Don’t take pride in the beauty of your body! The body is as fragile as clay on the potter’s wheel. It is very delicate like a dew drop. A gust of wind or even a momentary touch of wind will turn your body to dust. 1) There was a stern king who ruled over many nations. In his kingdom, he used to ride on elephants (He had huge wealth). Now in his palace, there is no one to light the lamp (deserted place). 2) As the oil in the clay lamp runs out (life force becomes weak), all one’s play (of pride and ego) comes to an end. The light of the lamp gets extinguished (the life departs from this vessel) just as the morning dew disappears with the first rays of the sun. 3) Your mother and father are an illusion. The whole family is an illusion. Their mourning and beating of their chests at your departure is an illusion. Their grief is temporary just like the dew drops that disappear with the first rays of the sun. 4) You are the most beloved one but who will be your savior? Whoever is born, You will have to go with the messenger of death just like the morning dew that disappears with first rays of sun. 5) The disciple of Sant Kabir, Bhavani Nāth Ji says ‘My Guru has placed His blessed hand on my head that grants libera- tion. My Guru’s Grace granting liberation is the real, rare, pure, precious pearl that stays forever and is not the dew drop that disappears.’
