Shabari says – O Lord Rāma, my age is passing chanting Your Name. O son of Raghu dynasty, when will You come to the way of Bhilani (Shabari – the elderly, ascetic, tribal women from Bhilani caste). 1) Me Shabari, I am from the Bhilani caste. I do not know loving worship. O Lord Rām, to have Your blessed Vision, I keep up my life in the forest. With Your Lotus Feet, please sanctify the hut of Your servant. 2) Every morning, I go to the forest, and I clean the way (for Your arrival). For the sake of my beloved Lord, from the forest I carefully pick and bring the fruits. Filled with very sweet berries, I brought the basket (for You). 3) Your beautiful, charming image with dark complexion, I will behold in my eyes. Keeping the dust from Your Lotus Feet on my forehead, I will bow down at Your Lotus Feet. O Lord, Have You forgotten me? 4) O Lord, wishing for Your blessed Vision, I am a helpless woman. My eyes are yearning for Your Darshan. My heart is filled with sorrow. O merciful Lord, please give me Your Darshan. Please have Your glance of benevolence upon me.
