Meaning

Translation

Brothers and sisters let us all sing the Name of Lord Rāma and Govinda. Rām, who is the dweller of Ayodhya and the son of Darsharath, He is the life of Janakī, and Uplifter of the fallen ones. 1) Singing the Name needs no chanting, no penance, no practice. Really, it takes no expense from your pocket. O devotee, sing the names of the Lord. 2) The wealth and treasures of this world, the progeny, the next generation; they are all apparent sources of happiness. But, in fact, they are distractions that make one forget his path in this world. 3) Kabīr says: 'The tongue on which the Name of Rām does not reside is as good as dust.'
