Lord Shiva, who is known as Shankar and Rudra, is the destroyer of all. You are the destroyer of all demons and evil entities. You have the terrifying appearance and are fearless. Salutations to Lord Shiva Shankara. 1) You, who protects the rights of yogis, are the supreme Lord. You, who are the protector of the Holy Scriptures, I sing Your glory. You are the truth, the eternity and sometimes You appear in Your fierce form (ugra), O Lord Shiva (Kapaleshwar). 2) You who are the Doer in the world and You appear in the Vamadeva form, You are the knowledge itself. And you have many forms. You are the giver of the dharmas, O Pure Lord! 3) You are the protector of the Vedas. You are the upholder of dharma (life-giving principle). You are eternal, truthful, pure and beautiful. You are the destroyer of all sorrows. You are the friend of all and all is contained within You. You are also very powerful and strong. 4) You are the shining One, You who rules over everything, O gentle Lord, my salutation to You. You who are victorious over Your enemies and You who are in everything and whose Name is repeated on a japamala, my salutations to You.
