Meaning

Translation

We sing many names of Lord Shiva, the simple-hearted Lord and the consort of Mother Pārvatī. You, who are also known as Shambho (the benevolent One who showers peace and joy to His devotees), Shankara (Destroyer of doubt), and Pashupate (the One who takes care of herds), salutations to You. 1) You are the One who rides on the Divine bull Nandi, and nagas (serpents) decorate Your throat. You are the One whose forehead is adorned with a crescent Moon and through Your hair flows Mother Gangā. You are the One who holds the trident and the One who illuminates the lamp. You are the One who is besmeared with ashes. O Lord Shiva, You are the beautiful supreme Lord. 2)You reside on the Kailash mountain in Your pure golden form. You are the beloved of Mother Pārvatī and the whole world. You are the pure consciousness and you are everywhere and also in the cremation ground. You are the blue-throated supreme One.
