Meaning

Translation

With reverence, we chant the holy mantra “Om Namah Shivāya”. 1) Our humble obeisances to You Lord Shiva doing the Tandav dance with thundering footsteps and removing the suffering of His devotees. The musical instruments Mridanga (drum) and Damaru are playing and resounding the praises of Lord Shiva. 2) Our humble obeisances to You Lord Shiva holding the Trident; bearing the holy river Ganges in His matted hairs; having three eyes and a crescent Moon adorning His forehead. 3) Our humble obeisances to You Lord Shiva Who is the source of love and bliss and source of bliss of pure consciousness. He is the Absolute truth, pure consciousness and supreme bliss. He is the bliss of the universe. 4) We sing praises of Lord Shiva Who is as pure as camphor and the incarnation of compassion. He is the essence of the world and the beginning of all creation. He adorns the Lord of snakes as a garland. He always resides in the lotus heart of His pure devotees. I bow down to the eternal Lord Shiva along with the all-powerful Goddess Parvati (Bhavani).
