Tujh Bin Ghari Na Jivanā

Without You, I cannot live even for an instant and my life in this world is cursed. O breath of life, O giver of peace - each and every instant I sacrifice unto You. O most merciful Lord, my best friend, please abide with me. [1] Please God, give me the support of Your hand. Lift me up and pull me out of this pit. O Lord of the World, I am worthless, with such a shallow intellect, You are always merciful to the meek. [2] Through what method or thought can I possibly account for Your blessings. You look after those who seek Your shelter, and love Your servants [although] You are high, physically unreachable and infinite. [3] All wealth and the eight miraculous spiritual powers are in the supremely sublime essence of the Name of the Lord. God becomes supremely pleased with those humble beings who continuously sing and reflect on the glories of the Lord. [4] You are my mother, father, son and friend. You are the support of the breath of life. Guru Arjan (the 5th Guru Nanak) says, “Those who remember You in the company of the holy, cross over the worldly ocean of vices.” [5]
